Fun Fact

Black cabs are very popular in the city, but becoming a driver is not easy. All potential drivers must take a rigorous test called ‘The Knowledge’, which requires them to memorize every street in the capital. Some people take years to pass the exam. 

Transportation

Getting There – Finnair – the largest airline in FInland that can get you from America to Europe or Asia. (NYC => CDG $285 R/T)

Getting Around – Paris is a pretty big city, and while walking is our favorite way to get around, it is definitely tiring. Luckily, The Metro in the city has 200 stops that will get you anywhere you need to go. You can buy a one time fare or do a day/ week pass if you’re staying a while. If you just want to see the main attractions the Hop On Hop Off Bus is always a good bet.

Accomodation

For a more private and boutique feel, this hotel fits the bill. Each room has a sleek design with a TV, soundproof walls and a Nespresso Machine. It is located in the 14th District of the city, which is  close to some major sites, the train, restaurants and shops.

City Guide

Day 1 - Grand Streets & structures

  • Arc De Triomphe – one of the city’s main attractions known for being the tallest triumphal arch in the world
  • Champs Elysees – the most famous street in Paris that goes for about a mile, full of shops, restaurants and theaters 
  • Grand Palais – the great palace is an ornate and beautifully decorated historic site with a glass roof and an art collection
  • Place de la Concorde – a famous square known for its revolutionary history & the 8 statues representing the 8 largest cities in France 
  • Alexander Bridge – this pristine white bridge is adorned with statues and lamps that glow above the Siene River
  • Effiel Tower – The signature of Paris – worth a trip in the day and at night when its lights glisten in the sky

Day 2 - Art & Religion

  • Sacre Coeur take the religious journey up 270 stairs to enjoy the view and the well decorated Sacred Heart of Jesus Church
  • Place du Tetre – the town square that is known for artists as the streets are lined with paints and canvases
  • Galleries Lafayette – a 10 story department store with everything from clothes to cafes & its gorgeous design is unreal
  • The Louvre Museum – the largest art museum in the world with 30,000 pieces including the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo
  • Tuileries Gardens
  • Royal Palace – the palace is closed to the public but you can stop and smell the roses in the garden

DAy 3 - Versallies

Take a 30 minute train ride or a tour to see the 
  •  Palace of Versallies
  • Versallies Cathedral
  •  Street Markets
When you are back in Paris
  • Catacombs – if you are brave enough, visit this underground cemetery that is lined with skulls and bones 
  • O CHeateau – wine tasting 

Day 4 - Paris

  • Pompidou Center – museum of modern art – enjoy the unique architecture, contemporary pieces and a great view of Paris 
  • Pont Neuf Bridge – the oldest bridge in the city
  • Holy Chapel a historic beauty worth a trip for the immense  stained glass windows full of biblical pastimes
  • Notre Dam – the fire back in April of 2019 badly damaged this beautiful church, but it is an icon in the city
  • Pantheon – a little touch of Greece in the center of Paris
  • Luxemburg Gardens – enjoy a stroll through the gardens and make sure to stop by the Medici Fountains
  • Montparnasse Tower – take a super fast elevator ride to the top of the tower and get ready for a panoramic view of the city

Eat It & Weep

St Victor

If you need a quick bite for breakfast this cute coffee shop is a great stop. Everything is homemade and seasonal so its served fresh. Have some American favorites like pancakes and eggs or have a classic crossant and latte.

Midway District

When you a need a break from the rich pastries and buttery crepes, try something s little more green and healthy at Bob’s Kitchen. From juices to salads to pies, this little spot will taste good while making you feel good.

Menu Must: Veggie Stew

Gare du Nord

One of the best cheap eats in Paris, with crepes that will make your mouth water. Hopefully there isn’t a line so you can enjoy your warm delicious treat. While it’s a small store front it is pretty popular.

Menu Must: classic lemon & butter or nutella & strawberries
