Paris
My Little Croissant
We learned our way around Spain and now it was time to check some other countries off the list. With almost 2 weeks off for Christmas break, we had a lot of options. And while Christmas is magical around the world, what better place could we choose than the romantic and beautiful Paris. We were so excited we could almost taste the croissants and wine as we boarded the plane.
Peak
Paris was everything we thought it would be and more. Between the Christmas markets, museums and a glittering Eiffel Tower, there was a lot to love. But we have to give it to the culinary scene in this city. From the mulled wine to chestnut crepes we left with happy hearts and stuffed bellies. As they say, we’ll always have Paris…
Valley
After seeing the Sacre Coeur and the breathtaking views, we were ready for some hot coffee and a crepe. Unfortunately, life had other plans. As we walked down numerous flights of stairs, two men approached us displaying colorful strings that they were tying into bracelets. While we kept saying that we were not interested, they proceeded to tie them on our wrists. At this point we were both annoyed and wanted to be left alone, but one of the men said we had to pay 20 euros each for the bracelets as he blocked our path. We were caught off guard, so make sure you’re prepared when these sketchy salesmen try to get you.
Appreciation
While walking along the Christmas Markets on Champs Elysees, we were even lucky enough to make friends with Melanie, A Parisian with a lot of love for the big apple. She was working in the Samsung booth and she was enthusiastic about taking us around. She met up with us before work and showed us amazing restaurants and sites like the Notre Dame and the lock bridge. She was incredibly kind and generous, making sure we enjoyed all that Paris had to offer.
