Dublin

It was Semana Santa aka Easter in Spain, which meant that like the easter bunny we were doing some country hopping. Some of our friends from NYC decided to come along for the adventure. Rupa and Eko are sisters that we have known since we were 8, all of us met at temple and we remained friends through the years. Our first stop, and one of Alexis’s favorite countries, was the green and sheep filled island of Ireland.

Peak

As expected there were a lot of highs on this trip. Once our friends arrived, jet- lagged and all, we made our way through Dublin. During our trips Priya collected condoms from every country because it’s an unusual and funny souvenir. We couldn’t find them in any gift shops so we decided to stop in a sex shop. After some browsing, dildo juggling and a few treats for ourselves, the cashier decided  to lend his services by drawing a clover on a condom so Priya could check another country off the list. On a more historic note we did take a nice day trip to Kilkenny which was fun. You never get tired of seeing castles in other countries. The closest thing we have is Disney, so we will take what we can get.

Valley

Our friends never stayed in a hostel before and they weren’t comfortable with the whole situation. In NYC our only reference to hostels is based on Hollywood thrillers where hostels become a murder scene. We ended up booking a hotel that was a bit far from the city center, so the trolley was our only way in. We didn’t understand the system very well and our tickets expired so we ended up sweet talking some Irish police officer out of a fine.

Appreciation

We arrived in Dublin the night before Rupa and Eko so we stayed in a hostel right in the center of the city. It unexpectedly turned into a great night filled with food, beer and old Irish folk songs. You got to love the spirit and high hopes of the Irish.

“There are good ships and there are wood ships, the ships that sail the sea. But the best ships are friendships and may they always be.”
