Barcelona
After all the chaos of losing our flight we finally ended up in Barcelona. We were hoping that this infamous city would give us life. Between the Sagrada Familia and the beautiful beach, we were definitely going to turn things around.
Peak
Our whole trip was pretty face paced and Barcelona was not exception. We saw a majority of the city in one day. When Priya and I suggested going to Parque Guell, Rupa and Eko took a pass for a nice relaxing evening with some beer and wine. I could not blame them, the walk with pretty long and steep. Priya and I hustled along anticipating the amazing view at the top. We got so much more than we thought, as we walked through the mosaics and mesmerizing architecture, we were in awe. We didn’t realize how colorful and bright it would be, it added so much light to the city making it almost whimsical.
Valley
Being that we missed our flight the Airbnb did not hold our rooms. We were out of luck on one of the busiest week of the year. We roamed Barcelona taking in the sites and looking for any hostels or hotels that would accommodate us. After about 6 tries we finally found a place that was a little pricey, but at least we would have a place to sleep.
Appreciation
We saw a lot of of churches throughout our travels in Europe, but the Sagrada familia had to be one of our favorites. The architecture was amazing and the stained glass made the basilica dance with color. Unfortunately, there were some cranes obstructing the view because it is currently being restored and under construction. We would love to come back when everything is finished and see the final masterpiece.
