London
Ello Love
Were were exhausted from our holiday adventures, but relaxation was not on the agenda just yet. We had one more trip before we could kick back. We were off to the Motherland!…Well the Motherland of America anyways. London was our next stop and to say it was an adventure is an understatement.
Peak
Of course we had a bucket list for London which included Buckingham Palace, London Bridge and the London Eye, but instead of hoping on a red tour bus we decided to do a yellow umbrella walking tour. It was awesome and free! We spent about 2 hours walking the streets of London and learning the rich history from a real londoner, not a pre-recorded audio set. Our guide was very funny and told us so many stories, he definitely deserved his tip.
Valley
While Priya is more of the fancy one when it comes to hostels and hotels, Alexis is frugal to a fault. We knew London was going to be expensive so we tried to save money by getting a cheap hostel. Lucky for us the London Eye Hostel, was only $17 a night for the both of us and Alexis, excited about the price, booked without hesitation. Of course it was way too good to be true. Our floor had 3 rooms of 15 people each with only 2 showers and 2 toilets. Even though we were only there for 3 nights, it was total chaos. Between the people having sex in the bunk next to us and the long lines for showers in the morning, Alexis regretted her decision big time. It was also unfortunate that we stayed at the London Eye hostel and could not go to the London Eye because it was closed for construction… whomp whomp.
Appreciation
We would like to take this moment to appreciate our good friend James. He is a ray of sunshine in a dreary and gray city. Seriously, he is super chill and not posh at all, which is why we have a good time. Don’t tell him we said that… he might actually think we like him.
It is not the walls that make the city, but the people who live within them. The walls of London may be battered, but the spirit of the Londoner stands resolute and undismayed.
