Sevilla
When you think of Spain many things come to mind like jamon iberico, flamenco dancing and matadores. Well look no further for an authentic experience than the Féria de Abril in Sevilla.
At this point all our co-workers were amazed with how much we saw and experienced in Spain. It seems like there is a festival every week, and somehow we always manage to hop on a train or bus to get a front row view.
Peak
Priya was in paradise the sun was blazing our skin was baking and we were in the middle of flamenco dresses galor. The Feria de Abril used to be a livestock fair but over the years it has grown to be a six day long celebration of Spanish traditions. As we walked from our airbnb we were excited to see horse drawn carriages and women in colorful flamenco dresses. As we made our way across the Guadalquivir River, we could see a fair similar to ones in America, there were rides, street vendors and decorated casetas (tents) full of dancing couples, laughter and tapas.
Valley
Airbnb was our trusted travel buddy making sure we always had a safe and great place to stay. Unfortunately things didn’t work out so well for us in Sevilla. When we first arrived Alexis tried to open the blinds to brighten the room, but that ended with the curtain rod falling down as our host walked in to greet us. She was pretty upset, and it only got worse from there. We ended up finding a roach in our bed and . We actually ended up sneaking out of the place in the middle of the night so we could find another place.
Appreciation
We walked along the streets looking for a flamenco show that was authentic and wouldn’t break bank. Luckily not to far from our AirBNB was a restaurant with a show starting shortly. We paid 20 euro each and got a drink while we waited. Finally the slow strum the the guitar beings as a women in a sapphire blue dress comes onto the stage.
